Important Notice
Applies to:
▪ Vitodens 200-W, B2HB Series (models 19, 26 and 35)
▪ Vitodens 222-F, B2TB Series (models 19 and 35)
In keeping with our exacting safety standards, please be advised that Viessmann North America has decided to voluntarily inspect and replace the heat exchanger for the following wall and floor-mount, gas-fired condensing boilers, manufactured between September 1, 2014 to April 25, 2017 due to premature or accelerated heat exchanger back plate failure. As a result of accelerated material degradation, some exhaust flue gases may escape into the burner compartment and therefore could leak into living spaces.
No incidents or injuries have been reported to date (September 10, 2020). This recall might be supervised by inspectors from Health Canada.
To check if your Vitodens boiler is affected by this recall, please enter the boiler's 16-digit serial number below. If your boiler is affected, contact your heating contractor or Viessmann as soon as possible to schedule a free boiler heat exchanger replacement. Consumers who continue to use these boilers while awaiting replacement should ensure that the house is equipped with properly installed and functioning carbon monoxide detectors.
Mechanical contractors will be provided a free replacement kit and reimbursed for their labour costs incurred in conducting this recall action. Please contact Viessmann for more details.
