Domestic hot water tanks and DHW heating stations
With the Vitocell and Vitotrans product families, Viessmann offers the right amount of domestic hot water for every demand, ideally matched to the heat source.
Domestic hot water solutions to suit every need
The demand for hot water can vary a lot for every household, depending on the number of people in the house, shower and laundry habits, and the amount of time spent at home.
There is a Vitocell hot water tank suited to meet every family's needs. With a new Vitocell tank from Viessmann, you can increase your family's comfort level and your savings at the same time. Fast recovery rates, large water volume, and low standby losses equate to comfort, convenience, efficiency and reliability.
Commercial hot water solutions
In large buildings such as apartments, hotels, resorts, hospitals and industrial facilities, the demand for domestic hot water can be very large. In these types of commercial applications, it might not be practical to use standard DHW storage tanks, due to the amount of hot water required.
For these high-output commercial applications, we created the Vitotrans 300 – a high-performance, indirect-fired DHW heating station designed to provide large volumes of instantaneous hot water. These units work seamlessly with any new or existing hydronic heat source to provide a reliable supply of hot water at flow rates of up to 180 GPM (681 L/min).
High quality and built to last
All of our hot water tanks and heating stations are made of high quality materials, and are designed to provide reliable and comfortable hot water with long-lasting performance.
For the Vitocell 300 series, both the tank and heat exchanger are made of high-grade stainless steel, a material known for its durability, hygiene, corrosion-resistance and long service life.
For the Vitotrans series, the brazed plate heat exchanger(s) are made of stainless steel, and are manufactured to precise specifications. In addition, the burner-less design of the Vitotrans 300 combined with a descaling pump result in low thermal stress, and low sediment build-up within the heat exchanger(s), ensuring minimal maintenance and prolonged service life.
How to pick the right size of DHW tank
One of the most important factors in selecting the right hot water tank for your application is the tank's storage capacity. Sizing depends on the hot water demand and the general heating capacity of the system. If the system's heating capacity is low, then it may be a good idea to buy a larger storage tank. In addition, individual consumption habits will also help determine the size of the DHW tank.
We recommend talking to a professional heating contractor, who will be able to assist you in finding the right tank for your needs. We also have an online DHW sizing tool that you can use to help determine the DHW load and required recovery rate for your building.
