Goal of this position:

The goal of the Warehouse / Facility Supervisor is to maximize operational efficiency, both in the warehouse and between departments. To minimize costs, and ensure accurate order fulfillment. To provide a safe and secure working environment for occupants and staff.
  

Detailed responsibilities:


Warehouse

  • Oversee training and supervision of warehouse staff.  

  • Lead, develop, organize workflow and assign tasks to the Warehouse team.

  • Conduct staff performance reviews; this includes identifying appropriate development plans and process improvement initiatives.

  • Utilize measurement systems (KPIs/ KPOs) to monitor department effectiveness and customer service to enable ongoing process improvement.

  • Partner with cross-functional departments to establish best practices to improve business operations.

  • Perform cost/benefit analyses in support of process improvement initiatives, review warehousing procedures and production supply practices in efforts to develop recommendations to maximize operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Provide oversight on work orders and staging to support efficient production and no downtime.

  • Responsible for cross training (Receiving and Distribution) to support as back up as needed.

  • Coordinate and provide procedural training to the Warehouse Team.

  • Develop, document and maintain “how tos” for all warehousing activities and procedures in Google.

  • Efficiently move, stack, and retrieve products.

  • Manage team schedules, attendance and vacation requests to meet business needs (Receiving and Distribution).

  • Participate in and/or lead Non Conformance Investigations.

  • Oversee that internal controls for inventory consumption are met.

  • Complete Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).

  • Other duties as assigned.

Facility

  • Oversee the installation, maintenance and repair of real estate infrastructures including machinery, equipment and electrical and mechanical systems.  

  • Support all facility contracts with external providers with Senior Purchaser.

  • Acquire quotes and coordinate all building upgrades with Senior Purchaser.

  • Participate and assist Operations Manager with budget planning.

  • Guide compliance with inventory control practices and ensure maintenance of physical and ERP inventory records through cycle counting and location audits.

  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements related to Warehousing.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • An effective team player with proven coaching, organizational, performance management, leadership skills and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Knowledge of Warehousing and Material Movement best practices.

  • Solid understanding of Inventory Management.

  • Ability to effectively lead and strengthen relationships with and between teams.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.
  

Required skills and competencies:

  • Post-secondary Diploma or combination of equivalent education and 10 years of progressive experience within warehousing, shipping, receiving or transportation/logistics environment.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years people management / leadership experience.
  • Valid Forklift license is required. (will certify)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience required operating a forklift.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • knowledge of SAP and Google Suite an asset.
  • Motivated, independent and take charge capability.
  • Interpersonal skills must include a team approach, positive attitude with self motivation, taking initiatives and communication to all team members with focus on problem solving and process improvement mindset.
  • Ability to deal and effectively communicate with all levels of management.
  • Customer centric skills for internal and external customers.
