Goals of this position:

Support project management activities maintaining existing products, and developing HVAC products for North America in close cooperation with PLM and Engineering, and continually focus on the development and customization of the digital ecosystem.
 

Detailed responsibilities:

  • Contribute towards the Carrier North Star: Steward team resources, priorities, and competencies to support the goal: "to be the global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions."
  • Champion the Carrier Way: Leading by example and developing a strong sense of team responsibility , beginning with senior reports and down channel across the entire team.
  • Scope accountability: Ensure SOWs are accurate, achievable, and resourced to ensure strategic objectives are achieved and solutions create real competitive advantages.
  • Project KPI ownership: Work with cross functional team members across the organization to deliver the key results necessary to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Evolving Subject Matter Expertise: Assist in defining team procedures or standards and performance objectives; provide recommendations for procedural improvements; understand the language/terms/jargon.
  • Planning: Participate in project planning with team members to create a structure for the completion of the project; estimate potential risks on a project along with their costs and probabilities.
  • Task Management: Use time efficiently to provide as much value to all the project teams as possible and keep the project on schedule and on budget; identify risks; adapt quickly to changes in regulations, cost, competitors, and management direction; problem solve in real time to find the cause of the problem, and the best solution to rectify the situation and get the project moving toward completion again.
  • Reporting: Monitoring progress metrics on a project and making adjustments as needed to meet project goals; provide transparent reporting on each project that can be easily accessed by team members and company staff; work with Product Managers to deliver metrics that are useful in making project decisions.
  • Assessment: Analyze performance metrics at completion of the project to identify areas for improvement and elements that worked well for future projects; listen to team members and department leader's feedback to make adjustments in future planning practices and improvement communication.

 

Prerequisites for Position
 

Education, certifications and professional experience:

  • Solid understanding of how parts need to come together to create the final product and systems.
  • Successfully completed technical degree, related engineering degree, or similar discipline degree.
  • PMP Certificate or other recognized accreditation is a plus.
  • 2 - 5 years experience in project management is desirable.
  • Considerable experience using project management software such as Asana in task management, project planning, reporting/analytics, Gantt charts, customizable dashboards.
  • Proven communication, analytical and organizational skills.
  • The assertiveness, negotiation skills and ability to deal with conflicts respectfully and drive discussion to speedy resolutions.
  • Fluency in written and spoken German language is a plus.
