Welcome to the Viessmann North America Training Academy! We are proud to introduce you to the talented and dedicated individuals who make our academy a place of excellence. Our team is a diverse group of professionals, each bringing a wealth of knowledge, passion, and expertise to foster a supportive and dynamic learning environment.

Miranda Gettling

NA ACADEMY MANAGER

Miranda started with Viessmann in 2016, after she and her family moved to RI from Long Island, NY in April 2016. Soon after, in 2017 she became the Academy Manager. Since then, Miranda has worked diligently to finding new ways to improve the Viessmann Academy through new and strategic initiatives year over year.

In 2021, Miranda was the recipient of the Viessmann Manager of the Year award.

Miranda, her husband and son all train in martial arts including mma, jiu jitsu and kick boxing. If they aren't all training - they love to spend time outside relaxing on the back porch with a great playlist to go with it!

Sarah Carr

NA ACADEMY COORDINATOR

Sarah joined Viessmann in November of 2023 as the Academy Coordinator. Sarah is a native Rhode Islander with a knack for organization. Through her years in hospitality, she has developed the skill for working warmly and professionally with colleagues at every level. In her free time, she has a deep love for theme parks, theater, and internet memes.

Dani Lacasse

NA DIGITAL ASSET SPECIALIST

Dani started with Viessmann in April of 2019 as the Academy Coordinator after moving from her hometown to Warwick, RI. Throughout her time in the position, she worked side-by-side with the Academy team to create the best possible experience for customers when attending academy trainings. In 2022, when she relocated with her family she was promoted to the digital asset specialist for the academy. Now she gets to utilize her passion and focus on refining the digital imprint of the Viessmann Academy by using her skills to assist on projects including video editing, presentation creation, website design and more.

Outside of work, she can be found laughing with her friends, LARPing in the woods, or spending quality time with her daughter, partner and two pups.

Karen Kristof

WATERLOO ACADEMY ONSITE COORDINATOR

Karen has a long tenure with Viessmann-Waterloo starting back in May, 2012 . Although Karen assists many departments at the office, she is stationed at the front reception desk as our Office Support Coordinator and belongs to the Marketing department. Anyone who visits the Viessmann office will not forget her welcoming words and her big smile. Karen joined the academy team in May 2020. Whether assisting to organize lunches or training rooms for our guests , Karen is always willing to lend a hand to any request. Karen's family is a very important part of her life, and she makes everyone who visits the Waterloo office feel like part of the family.

NA ACADEMY TRAINING INSTRUCTORS

TeamCircleTemplate - Donald
Donald Gabriel

Donald brings 10+ years of experience in the HVAC world, most of it coming from commercial equipment. He Joined Viessmann in 2022 as a technical support representative. Donald then was informed that an opening had come up as a trainer and jumped at the opportunity to teach. He was also a correction officer in a maximum security prison in the state of Delaware from 2016-2022. Some fun facts about Donald. He played for a semi-professional football team and won the championship after a lifelong dream of wanting to play football. He also is a huge fan of Lord of the Rings.

Drew Cameron

Drew comes from over a decade of service experience in the industrial gas and refrigeration industry. He has his Gas 1 certification as well as his 313A commercial refrigeration mechanics license. After many years of servicing equipment in the field he entered the realm of manufacturing to become a technical specialist and trainer for heating and refrigeration equipment.

Mark Norris

Mark has over 40 years’ experience working in the forced air & hydronics industry including 20+ years working as a mechanical contractor, on residential, commercial and industrial equipment. He spent more than 8 years designing, programming and installing BMS systems. Mark has also worked as an instructor for the Ontario, Canada G1 & G2 fitter licensing program. For more than 16 years he has been part of the Viessmann Academy team at the Viessmann Canadian head office located in Waterloo, Ontario. At Viessmann, his responsibilities include developing and delivering inhouse and online training as well as support for the technical service and engineering departments.

Richard Baran

Richard brings extensive boiler room experience into the classroom based on three decades of work with full-service oil & propane companies and a mechanical contractor specializing in waste oil-fired heating. He has held roles from Service Technician to Service Manager and is looking forward to sharing Viessmann knowledge in his current role as an Academy Training Instructor.
